ONE of the reasons Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were able to cast ancient Norse gods as modern comic-book superheroes was that they were comparatively unknown, Richard Wagner and the names of our weekdays notwithstanding. Here, then, are a few terms so you can tell your Asgard from a Hel in the ground.

Nicely done, sir! You did some more research, true to your word. Wonder if Marvel Comics will give us another adventure soon, as I thought their Thor was a surprising little gem. It’s been a bit hit and miss in the comic book-to-movie screen transition. Writing, writing, writing!! But I’m preaching to the choir, aren’t I? Cheers.
